Portuguese international Adrien Silva will be allowed to leave Leicester City on loan during the January transfer window, according to the Telegraph.
The midfielder has failed to get his Foxes career off the ground following his £22m move from Sporting, which may have something with the delay in getting it over the line due to a delay over paperwork.
As Leicester have opted for more physicality in midfield, he has slipped down the pecking order but Newcastle United are one side who could do with a bit more silk in the centre of the park.
There has been an overreliance on Jonjo Shelvey in the past, and while Ki Sung-yueng has stepped up ably in the Englishman’s absence, there is still a need for more guile in the centre of the park in the north east.

Just as Andre Gomes has overhauled Everton’s midfield options, Silva could do the same for a Newcastle side who do not generally have the budget to shop for international standard deep playmakers.
For as long as Mike Ashley remains at St James’ Park, Rafa Benitez will be forced to take cut-price punts in the transfer market and Silva looks like one that could work.
