Adrien Silva has made it clear he wants to leave Leicester City before the end of the season. Signed for £22 million in a complicated deal that was only ratified 12 months ago the Portuguese international has struggled to have any impact at the King Power Stadium.

A host of teams are said to be keen on the player, with Monaco now looking a potential destination with Youri Tielemans potentially heading the other direction – as reported by the Telegraph.

Everton, however, should be in the hunt.

The Toffees are currently fighting to keep hold of midfield dynamo Idrissa Gana Gueye. As reported by Sky Sports the Toffees have fielded a £21.5 million offer from PSG and the Senegal international is open to an exit.

Bringing in Silva would act as a great failsafe to that potential problem.

Marco Silva knows the 29-year-old well. He managed him during his one season in charge at Sporting Lisbon. The midfielder thrived that season, playing 42 games and scoring 10 goals from the heart of midfield.

Everton need stop-gap options with the bulk of their transfer planning in advance for the summer. Adrien Silva could help them get through their final 15 games of the season, especially if they do bow to pressure and sell Gueye this week.
