Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is prepared to fund the club’s first signing of the January transfer window by moving for Paris Saint-Germain ace Adrien Rabiot.
According to the Sun, Spurs have the 23-year-old in their sights and could bring him in for a cut-price fee.
It is understood that the midfielder is out of contract with PSG in the summer and wants to move, with the club preferring to sell him for £20million rather than let him go on a free.
The report details that the French giants do want to bring in a replacement though before selling Rabiot, with Everton’s Idrissa Gueye a priority.
Spurs haven’t signed a single player since January 2018 and fans have had to be patient waiting for a new arrival.
But Rabiot would be well worth the wait if he moves to North London and he could be the perfect signing.

Spurs could do with a replacement for Mousa Dembele in the centre of the park and the PSG enforcer fits the bill.
Rabiot is a versatile midfielder that can provide plenty going forward with his guile and dribbling, while he’s got the defensive work too that adds to his game.
The left-footed ace is still a young talent that could reach the next level under Mauricio Pochettino and is the type of signing that could make an immediate impact on the starting XI.
