A disappointing few days for Tottenham Hotspur may have just been made worse by Adrien Rabiot.
According to French media outlet Paris United, PSG midfielder Rabiot will reject a move to Tottenham.
After being knocked out of both domestic cups in the past week, this is yet another frustrating blow for Spurs fans.
Rabiot would have been the perfect addition as he would have been a free transfer from PSG for next season.
Mousa Dembele departed the club earlier this month, Victor Wanyama’s long-term future is uncertain and Eric Dier’s form has been patchy.
Central midfield is definitely an area that needs improvement and Rabiot would have been an ideal bargain signing.
The 23-year-old has played well over 200 times for PSG, as well as representing Toulouse 13 times and earning six caps for France.
Considered as one of the best young central midfielders around, Rabiot would have been a statement signing for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
Tottenham fans were left frustrated when the club failed to bring in any new players last summer. And this January, it is very much the same story as no new senior players have arrived in North London.
Now this Rabiot rejection is the latest transfer frustration for Tottenham, who desperately need a positive news story.
