Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for French international midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer. It is an interest which stems as far back as the summer of 2015, as reported by The Telegraph.
Since then he has established himself as a key member of the Paris Saint-Germain team, despite the continued massive investment in the PSG first-team.
Rabiot is, however, right to consider his future at PSG, considering the constant change in the French capital.
As for Tottenham, Rabiot would be a perfect signature this summer. Spurs have done business with PSG before, bringing in Serge Aurier last summer, although the midfielder is likely to be a far more difficult target compared to the Ivorian.
Spurs need to bring in a midfielder this summer and they may also be on the verge of losing one of their key men. Mousa Dembele has just one year left on his contract at Spurs and it has been reported that he may not sign a new deal to remain at Spurs, with interest in his services from China – as reported by the Independent last month.

Tottenham could not find a better replacement for Dembele than Rabiot. Whilst the Belgian, for many fans, will be an irreplaceable cult hero Rabiot has the ability to come close.
The pair have many similarities. Both, at times, are impossible to dispossess with excellent dribbling ability and surprising strength. Controlling influences in the heart of midfield who thrive with the ball at their fee, Rabiot would slot into Dembele’s role with relative ease. The duo are even both left-footed, allowing the same balance in Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield.
Of course, in an ideal world, Tottenham would have both players in their midfield arsenal. But if Dembele does decide it is time to move on, then there are not many better replacements in the world game than Rabiot.
