Everton picked up a hard-fought win against Crystal Palace in the Premier League yesterday. The Toffees scored two late goals, courtesy of substitutes Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun, to earn a 2-0 victory.

The first goal was also set up by the other substitute. Ademola Lookman was thrown into the action in the 82nd minute. The 21-year-old finally showed Everton fans what he was getting up to in Germany the first half of this year with a sumptuous assist. With zero backlift, he curled a delightfully inviting cross onto Calvert-Lewin’s head.

It was a sneak peek of the form that Lookman exhibited at RB Leipzig last season, after he was loaned to the club by Sam Allardyce.

He went on to score five goals and set up a further four in 11 games for the club. Such form had Leipzig scrambling for a permanent deal. The German side made four bids for the player this summer, according to The Mirror, including a club record £25 million bid in August.

But Everton boss Marco Silva made it clear he was not for sale at any price as he featured heavily in the future plans for the club.

This is the first time Everton fans have seen him do anything telling for the club since that bid. Hopefully, it will not be the last.
