Ademola Lookman could be Everton secret weapon v Man City

Everton host Manchester City on Wednesday night in the Premier League, who will go top of the table if they win at Goodison Park.

The Toffees need three points themselves if they want to drag themselves back into the European hunt and are currently five points adrift of Wolverhampton Wanderers in seventh.

Marco Silva’s side are likely to be up against it when Manchester City visit, but they need to try ask their own questions offensively and should be able to find some weaknesses to exploit.

Manchester City are definitely vulnerable in the full-back areas and have conceded 20 times in 25 league games this season.

Everton have the dynamism to hit Pep Guardiola’s team on the counter and that is why they should recall Ademlola Lookman in midweek.

Lookman is a highly-rated talent at the Merseyside club and cost £11million (BBC) from Charlton Athletic in 2017.

The 21-year-old wide man has had to be patient with his first-team opportunities this season, but shown in patches his quality and he has the ability to terrorise defences when he’s on form.

He’s got the pace and trickery to hurt Manchester City’s Kyle Walker out wide, which is why Silva should back him at home with a start.

The England Under-21 international has played just 30 minutes in the last two league games, but should be ready to explode on the reigning champions.
