Adama Traore’s agent comments place Liverpool and Arsenal on red alert

Adama Traore’s agent Rodri Baster has told Spanish outlet EFE that the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger could still be on the move this summer, if the current crisis begins to evaporate – amid reported interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Clubs are expected to be more cautious in the upcoming transfer window amid the global health crisis, with the majority of Premier League clubs requesting players take wage deferrals – or even cuts in some cases.

A lack of finances because of the current issues could mean Premier League clubs choose not to spend in the upcoming market, but Baster is confident that if the financial market begins to level out again – transfers could happen.

He claimed that Traore, 24, could still get a big-money move this summer, after the former Barcelona star has had a hand in 16 goals this season. The Mirror claim Arsenal and Liverpool are keen, and the comments could place them on red alert.

“I can’t talk about contractual situations because it’s a private matter, but Adama was having a good season, and with his age, conditions and the fact he’s a very appealing player, there would have been a market for him, no doubt about it,” Traore said.

“We have to hope for the situation to normalise itself and hope that it won’t affect him this summer”.

TBR’s view – Traore would be a stunning signing for both clubs

There is no doubt that Traore would be one of the first names on the team sheet for Arsenal. Nicolas Pepe has struggled, but even if Pepe plays on one wing and Traore the other, the Spaniard would still play week-in, week-out.

At Liverpool, Traore may struggle to gain regular starts with the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane almost irreplaceable. However, with Liverpool playing in the Champions League, Traore would have plenty of opportunities.

His agent’s comments will come as good news to both Liverpool and Arsenal, in their pursuit of Wolves’ £18million (Mirror) signing.
