BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has heaped praise on Wolves winger Adama Traore after his Christmas performances.

Crooks was named in the Team of the Week for his performances against Manchester City and Liverpool over the festive period.

Traore started against City, producing a Man of the Match display, before coming on as a substitute at Anfield.

Crooks thoroughly enjoyed the performances of Traore during the double-header.

He told BBC Sport: “This fella completely turned the 3-2 win over Manchester City on its head. He not only got Wolves back into the match that was quickly drifting away but set up the equaliser having caught Benjamin Mendy sleeping on the job.”

Traore is having a fine season at Molineux. He has netted five goals and registered seven assists during the 2019/20 campaign.

He has been one of Wolves’ best performers and is more than justifying the £18 million fee that the club paid for him (BBC Sport).

Against Liverpool, he was introduced for just 37 minutes and he swung the pendulum in the direction of Wolves.

Had the Reds conceded and been forced to settle for a point it would have been down to the energy and work rate of Traore.

Crooks sticking him in his team of the week is thoroughly deserved and he looks like being a big player for the club going forward.
