Journalist: 'Incredible' £100k-a-week star could join Leeds this summer, he knows Orta wants him

Wolves winger, Adama Traore, is apparently aware that Leeds United hold an interest in him and he could even be open to the move this summer.

Traore is currently on loan with Barcelona. However, there are multiple reports claiming the Catalan club won’t be putting the money up to make a deal permanent. Barca have an option to buy the winger, but it’s believed they’ll look to other targets, with Traore underwhelming in his spell so far.

And with Leeds reportedly interested in taking him to Elland Road and Traore having little future at Wolves, journalist Dean Jones has suggested Traore will have no option but to join the Whites.

7 Footballers Who Were GENUINELY Irreplaceable

“He knows they want him. I think he’s been open to it in the past. If there’s no future for him at Wolves, or Barcelona, then he will have to consider it,” Jones told GiveMeSport.

Traore was all set to join Tottenham in January after a protracted chase from Spurs. But in the end he got his move to Barcelona, something he’d made no secret of his desire to do in the past.

Leeds, meanwhile, cannot plan for the summer as yet with their future uncertain. They could be in the bottom three come the weekend, with Burnley set to play their game in hand this week.

TBR’s View: Leeds Only Get Adama Traore If They Stay Up

Leeds might hold a big interest in signing Adama Traore, but they must know that he’s only coming to Elland Road if they stay in the league. He simply won’t be moving to a Championship club, not when he’s been in Barcelona for the last five months.

Of course, Traore is a good player and very much fits into what Leeds play like. His pace would be useful out wide, and if Raphinha leaves, then he’s not a bad replacement.

But so much rests on this week, and Leeds will be nervous as anything heading into their game with Brentford.
