Arsenal are edging ever close to completing the signing of Brighton defender Ben White, with a medical set to take place shortly.
The Gunners are set to pay around £50m for White. We have already reported on TBR that a deal is ‘imminent’ for the defender.

White was part of the England squad this summer, although he did not play for the Three Lions. He’s enjoyed a stellar rise, helping Leeds to promotion before steering Brighton clear of relegation trouble last season.
And while some are turning up their noses at the £50m price, his current teammate Adam Webster is sure that White will be a success.
Webster backs White for Arsenal
Webster, who joined Brighton for big money himself, knows a thing or two about dealing with pressure from a fee paid.
But speaking to Talksport, the Seagulls ace is under illusions when it comes to White being a success with Arsenal.
“He’s got so much ability and so much potential. He’s still only 23, so he’s still got a lot of years ahead of him,” Webster commented.
“To do what he’s done, every year he’s kicked on and progressed, from League One to Championship and then last year in the Premier League and playing for England. He takes it all in his stride and nothing fazes him. It doesn’t surprise me.”
White’s signing will take Arsenal’s spending towards the £80m mark this summer, with more expected to follow.
Albert Lokonga and Nuno Tavares are already in the door, while Aaron Ramsdale remains a target.
White will be expected to slot straight into the Gunners defence alongside the likes of Gabriel and Rob Holding.
