It appears that Adam Webster’s move to Brighton in the summer is not going to do Leeds United any favours in their own transfer hopes.
Leeds have been thoroughly impressed with the performances of their summer arrival Ben White, who joined the club on loan from the Seagulls as a replacement for Pontus Jansson.
Many fans would like that deal to become permanent in the summer, especially if Leeds win promotion to the Premier League.
But he will not be cheap, with Webster’s move from Bristol City in the summer a key reason.

As reported by the Brighton and Hove Independent, the Premier League side will not consider selling White for anything less than £20 million. In fact, they consider the £24 million they paid for Webster as a direct reason for that price-tag.
It makes sense. White has arguably proven himself to be an even better player in the Championship than Webster did so Brighton are right to value him in a similar range.
The fact is, Brighton have no desire to sell White and Leeds will have a tough task convincing them otherwise even if they win promotion to the Premier League this season.
