Liverpool’s under 23s bounced back from midweek humiliation to Villarreal in style in the Merseyside Derby as they beat Everton under 23s 1-0 at Goodison Park. One man who was crucial to that was Adam Lewis.
The 18-year-old’s effort from the edge of the box proved to be the winner as it took a wicked deflection off of Rafa Camacho, who was credited with the goal, and went in.
It was just part of an impressive display from the left-back who continues to demonstrate what he can do and offer to Jurgen Klopp and the first team.

Having joined the first team for training on several occasions this season, Lewis could be closing in on a senior debut if he can keep up his consistent form.
As Alberto Moreno looks set to depart in the summer and with Andrew Robertson the undisputed first choice, if Moreno moves before the end of the campaign then Lewis could be drafted in as an alternative.
With an FA Cup run yet to begin, it could provide the teenager with a realistic chance of a first team debut as he continues to stand out with players of much more experience at under 23 level.
