Adam Lewis could be next youngster in Liverpool team after training call-up

Liverpool are well known for bring through local youngsters and the next one could be Adam Lewis.

The 19-year-old left-back joined the Reds’ first team for training at Melwood last week, according to HITC.

Lewis provided cover for Alberto Moreno, the back-up option on the left of defence who made his first start of the season against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, whilst Andrew Robertson resumed his place as first choice as Liverpool faced the Blues again in the Premier League on Saturday.

Selected by Steven Gerrard to be the captain of his under 18s side last season, he put pen to paper on a professional deal in December 2017 after joining the club at the age of just five.

With the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold having made the step up to the first team recently, Lewis may rate his chances of following in his footsteps and building on his call-up to the England under 20s squad earlier this month.

An attacking minded full-back who is known for great deliveries, particularly at set pieces, the 19-year-old is an exciting talent who Liverpool fans should keep an eye out for.
