Liverpool are reportedly keen on the signature of Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay. Turkish Football recently reported that Liverpool remain keen on the player who, according to Bild, has a £28 million release clause.
The report says talks are underway regarding a potential deal for the 25-year-old, who is represented by the same agency as Sadio Mane and Naby Keita.
Demirbay was, apparently, scouted by Liverpool in Hoffenheim’s weekend 4-0 triumph over Stuttgart. The Confederations Cup winner even commented on those reports himself.
“Of course I noticed that [Liverpool scouts were there]. I can handle it.”

His arrival would, however, surely spell the end of the line for one Jurgen Klopp favourite.
Adam Lallana has long been a player the German has a lot of time for. Considered his teacher’s pet by many, the hard-working midfielder has been a regular for Liverpool since Klopp arrived at Anfield.

However, the England international has had his problems recently. He played just 15 times last season because of a hamstring injury and has bee struggling with a groin strain for much of the current campaign.
At 30-years-old, he has slipped down the pecking order at Liverpool, with the arrivals of Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri making life difficult for the player.
Considering his age, injury record and lack of goals the arrival of Demirbay and the return to fitness of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would see the former Southampton man struggling for first-team football at Anfield.
If Liverpool snapped up Demirbay, then Lallana might have to start looking for a new home.
