Adam Lallana is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, and it seems that Leicester City could be his destination.
As reported by Sky Sports, the 31-year-old’s contract is expiring in the summer and the Foxes have made contact regarding a potential move, with Liverpool giving Lallana permission to start talking to new clubs.
Brendan Rodgers was the man in charge at Anfield when Liverpool signed the player from Southampton for £25 million (The Guardian) in 2014.
It also seems that Lallana would love to reunite with his former boss. The 34-cap England international spoke very highly of Rodgers during his time on Merseyside. Speaking to NBC Sports in 2014, Lallana spoke glowingly of the current Leicester boss.
“Working for Brendan Rodgers has been brilliant. He’s a great manager, he’s very hands on. Works very much with the players, and his man-management skills are good. He even speaks Spanish to a lot of the lads who can’t speak English. He’s tactically clever and sees things. And he always wants to improve. He’s always watching games, looking to tweak things different. He’s a very, very clever manager.”
It certainly seems like a match made in heaven. Leicester are a team on the up and Lallana could add some needed experience into the midfield positions.
However, some Leicester fans will have doubts about Lallana’s fitness in recent years.
But it seems Rodgers and Lallana might be set for a reunion at the King Power and given the mutual respect between the pair, it could prove a shrewd piece of business.
