Adam Forshaw has declared himself ‘raring to go’ at Leeds United this season, despite reports surrounding his future at the club.

The midfielder is back in pre-season training at Thorp Arch as Leeds build for another promotion charge.

The former Middlesbrough man told the official Leeds United website that the club’s pre-season schedule is as grueling as expected under taskmaster Marcelo Bielsa.

“It’s good to be back in training and doing what we love in playing football. It’s been tough as usual, but it’s what we expect.

“If we want to get back to the levels we were at last season then we need to put the work in now and we definitely are.

“There are a lot of hard runs that we have to do and a lot of gym sessions, but we are all enjoying it and raring to go again.”

Those do not sound like the words of a player who could potentially be on his way out of Elland Road.

However, Forshaw has been linked with a transfer in recent weeks.

As reported by the Daily Mail, recently relegated Championship rivals Fulham are keen on the £4.5 million player. The report claimed Fulham boss Scott Parker is a big fan of the Leeds star and it seemed a deal could be on the cards.

Forshaw’s season was struck by injury last term. Despite showing some good form over the winter period, he certainly seemed like one of the more expendable options in the Leeds first-team.

But by the sounds of it, the 27-year-old has no intention of leaving West Yorkshire this summer.
