Adam Forshaw has responded angrily to a Leeds United fan on Instagram who sarcastically asked why he was still a part of the Whites squad as the midfielder remains sidelined with a hip injury.

Forshaw, 28, has failed to feature for Leeds since the end of September when he lasted 45 minutes of the 1-0 defeat to Charlton at The Valley. It has limited the ex-Middlesbrough and Everton star to just eight matches all season.

His injury was a big loss to Marcelo Bielsa’s side, given that Forshaw had started the first six league games alongside Mateusz Klich in midfield. Since then, the likes of Pablo Hernandez and Tyler Roberts has replaced him.

Many Leeds United players enjoyed a night off on Tuesday as they met up at a restaurant in Yorkshire – those with wives or girlfriends attended, including the likes of Forshaw, Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips. Forshaw posted a picture on Instagram.

Forshaw has now missed a consecutive 13 Championship matches due to the injury, though Bielsa has coninually stated in press conferences that he is working hard. There is no real date for his return to full fitness.

Over the Christmas period, though, Leeds could really do with Forshaw as the Whites play four matches in less than a fortnight. A frustrated Leeds fan sarcastically commented about his injury, and Forshaw responded angrily.
