Leeds United have been rocked with the devastating news that Adam Forshaw will require surgery on his injured hip, subsequently ruling him out for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.
The attacking midfielder started the current campaign in solid form, playing seven games in Marcelo Bielsa’s team.
He hasn’t played at all since a 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic back in September and it’s now been confirmed he will head to America for surgery.

Given that Leeds didn’t land a replacement for Forshaw during January it seems like a hammer blow to the club’s promotion chances.
Bielsa’s squad isn’t massive as it is and the Argentine can ill-afford any more setbacks on the injury front.
The consensus among the supporters is that the club were extremely shortsighted in not signing a potential replacement for the 28-year-old.
On Twitter the reactions are mixed. Some fans are focused on the player and him getting fit for next season; with others preferring to slam the recruitment team for their inability to sign a replacement.

Forshaw signed for Leeds in 2018 costing £4.5 million from Middlesbrough. He’s played 52 games for the club and is still awaiting his first goal for the Whites.
