Newcastle defender Achraf Lazaar has flown out to Italy to work on his St James’ Park exit, according to the Chronicle’s transfer live blog, 8 August, 09:26am.
They report that the 27-year-old already has a house out there and will now be taking to Serie A clubs as he looks to move away from the Magpies.
The report says that he is surplus to requirements and is looking to return to the country where his career began in order to get it back on track.
Italy’s transfer window doesn’t close until September 2, meaning that he has plenty of time to negotiate a move unbound by the frantic demands of deadline day over here.

Lazaar worked with his new manager Steve Bruce at Sheffield Wednesday and he might have hoped that could hand him a Newcastle reprieve, especially after being involved in pre-season.
That does not look to be the case and with the player set to be excluded from Newcastle’s 25-man Premier League squad, it’s plain that there’s no future for him and he’s wasted no time getting away.
At 27, he does have enough time to get his career back on track although there’s not too much to suggest at the moment that Newcastle will regret letting him go.
