Achraf Lazaar has posted a heartfelt message to supporters on Instagram with a picture of himself in a Newcastle United shirt, as the Moroccan defender continues to remain on loan at Italian Serie B side Cosenza.
Lazaar, 28, has hardly proved to Newcastle that is worthy of breaking into the senior side while on loan – playing just eight times for the second-tier side. A long-term thigh problem saw him miss 10 league games.
Signed by Rafa Benitez in the summer of 2016 from Palermo for £2million (Sky Sports), Lazaar has played just 10 times for The Toon. He has instead been sent on loan three times, playing for Benevento in Serie A, Sheffield Wednesday, and now Cosenza.
Posting a picture of himself in a Newcastle shirt, Morocco international Lazaar told supporters that he misses them amid the current global health crisis – even though he has endured a nightmare spell on Tyneside.

Lazaar’s future at Newcastle has been as good as over since the club gained promotion back into the Premier League at the first attempt. The African star last played for The Toon in August 2017, during an extra-time defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Surplus to requirements on Tyneside, Lazaar will be sold if any clubs want to take the left-sided ace on a permanent deal – especially with the player set to enter the final 12 months of his contract.
