AC Milan fans urge Krzysztof Piatek to stay amid reported Tottenham interest

Krzysztof Piatek scored one and created another on Wednesday as AC Milan progressed into the next round of Coppa Italia with a 3-0 win over SPAL – and Milan supporters have responded to his Tweet, urging him to stay amid reported Tottenham interest.

Piatek, 24, scored only his fifth goal of the season after being put through on goal – and he finished comfortably to give Milan the lead. Samu Castillejo and Theo Hernandez also got their names on the score sheet.

The Poland international has fallen down the pecking order at Milan, after just five goals in 19 games. Last season, he netted 30 goals in 42 – 19 of which came for Genoa and 11 more for Milan in 21 outings each.

The signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has helped Piatek but the Swedish veteran was an unused substitute with it being the cup, and Piatek took his chance with a well-taken goal and a strong assist. He posted on Twitter after the win.

The Sun claimed last week that Spurs had agreed a loan-to-buy deal to sign Piatek worth £28million. An initial £4.2million up front, before another £23.8million to make it permanent. But little has been said since that report.

Despite his lack of form, Milan supporters responded to his Tweet amid the uncertainty around his future which has also seen Newcastle and Aston Villa linked. The overall feeling is that Milan fans the player to remain at the Italian club.
