Arsene Wenger heaped praise on Mohamed Salah following the Liverpool star’s ‘top-class’ display against Atletico Madrid last night.

The legendary Frenchman understands football better than almost everyone else. When he speaks, people listen, and Liverpool fans absolutely love what he has said about their Egyptian king.

Salah opened the scoring after just eight minutes. Liverpool doubled their lead through Naby Keita, but Atleti levelled the scores before half-time. Just when it looked like the game would end in a draw, the former Basel man stepped up again, this time from the penalty spot.

The 29-year-old was yet again the best player on the pitch for Liverpool. He is having an amazing season and Wenger believes that Salah is undoubtedly the best in the world at the moment.

The ex-Arsenal boss said on beIN Sports: “He’s top, top-class.

“He’s certainly the best striker, at the moment, in the world. He scores goals that nobody else can score. You have to play street football to dribble people like that in the short space.

“He is full of confidence and he’s creative. Overall, I believe as well he is very intelligent. The sign of players who always improve is the intelligence.”
