Ben Davies has been hailed by Michael Dawson as a massively underrated player at Tottenham.
Speaking on the Official Tottenham Hotspur Podcast, Dawson has been discussing Davies alongside Brennan Johnson, and he’s been full of praise for the defender.
Dawson says that Davies isn’t just a great figure off the pitch, he says that he’s also not getting the credit he deserves on the pitch as well, claiming that his performances this season have been absolutely magnificent as he’s had to fill-in at left centre-back during Micky Van de Ven’s recent absence.

Dawson hails Davies
The pundit spoke highly of the £10m defender.
“Ben signed just as I left in 2014. Clubs need players like him, not just off of the pitch, but I don’t think he’s getting the credit he deserves on it by the way. He’s been absolutely magnificent. He’s come in for arguably one of the best centre-backs in the league, in Micky, but on the left side, he plays passes, he’s fantastic,” Dawson said.
Underrated
We have to agree with Dawson, Davies is a massively underrated player.
Whether he’s playing at left-back or at centre-back, he’s always a consistent performer who rarely puts a foot wrong.
Yes, he’s not a world-beater, but as a depth option, we find it hard to believe any team in the Premier League wouldn’t want a player like Davies.
After 10 years at Spurs, Davies is still putting in solid performance after solid performance, and, unfortunately, as Dawson says, he’s not had the credit he’s probably deserved over these past few years.
Under Mauricio Pochettino, Nuno Espirito Santo, Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Ange Postecoglou, Davies has been fantastic under every manager, he’s always given his all and he’s never really let Spurs down.
Davies may not go down as a Tottenham legend, but he’s been one of their best servants in recent years.
