Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been praised by Daniel Bachmann following his heroics for Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox charges.
The 39-year-old has been a superb player for the Gers over the years and has been instrumental for the Light Blues in their successful pursuit of title number 55.
McGregor has made 388 competitive senior appearances for Rangers over two spells, and has won four Scottish Premiership titles, five Scottish League Cups and three Scottish Cups.

This season, he has featured 37 times, keeping 20 clean sheets and conceding just 27 goals.
McGregor made an especially wonderful save in Rangers’ Europa League last-16 first leg with Slavia Prague.
An Ondrej Lingr corner whipped into the box fell perfectly for Lukas Masopust, who connected with a seemingly goalbound thumping header to McGregor’s left.
The Ibrox stopper swiftly got down to not only thwart his opponent, which would’ve made it a stunning save in itself, but somehow grounded the ball and kept hold of it.
“I saw McGregor’s save and it was unbelievable,” Bachmann, in line to make his Austria debut against Scotland in Thursday’s World Cup qualifier, told the Daily Record.
“The day after that game myself, Ben Foster and all the goalkeepers at Watford were talking about it at training and were all agreed it was just absolutely incredible. One of the best you will see.
“As a goalkeeper you know how hard that save is. You see some top saves that you know aren’t quite as difficult as they look.
“But that one – with the pace on the ball and the bounce and everything about it – you just know how hard it is.
“McGregor has obviously looked after himself so it doesn’t matter what age you are. If you are top class then you are top class.”

What else can be said about McGregor that hasn’t been said? He continues to shine for Rangers and his place as an Ibrox legend is assured.
His contract runs out in the summer but surely he’s got another two or three years in him, so let’s hope Gerrard can persuade him to stay on.
If that doesn’t happen, then hopefully McGregor will remain at Rangers in a different capacity, as a coach perhaps.
