Jurgen Klopp has suggested that he was impressed by the pace of Kaide Gordon and Takumi Minamino last night for his Liverpool side on the club’s official site.
Double trouble
Liverpool ran out 3-1 winners over Osasuna yesterday in a friendly at Anfield.
The Reds were impressive in the contest, with some of their fringe players stepping up and proving their worth.
While Roberto Firmino grabbed the headlines with a brace, he was ably supported by the likes of Gordon and Minamino.
And Klopp admits that the pace of the 16-year-old youngster and the Japanese international caught his eye.
“Bobby between the lines was exceptional but what Kaide and Taki offered from a speed perspective was absolutely exceptional as well,” he said.
Big pre-season winners
Gordon and Minamino have certainly been two of the big winners from Liverpool’s pre-season.

Gordon is still only 16, so will have to be managed carefully, but all the signs suggest that he could be a star at Anfield.
Minamino, meanwhile, may well have confirmed his place in Liverpool’s team for next year.
The attacker’s future was uncertain after he was sent out on loan last season.
But Minamino has scored prolifically in friendly matches and his performances will surely have caught the eye of Klopp in recent weeks.
