Adam Summerton was left amazed after a brilliant piece of defending from Gabriel Magalhaes for Arsenal tonight.
Speaking on TNT Sports, the commentator singled out the Arsenal defender for praise after he made a Giorgio Chiellini-esque last-ditch block.
It’s fair to say Arsenal started tonight’s game in the Netherlands like a side who’d made eight changes.
Mikel Arteta decided to rest a host of key players, with only Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba and Kai Havertz keeping their place in the starting XI.

The Gunners struggled to find their feet in the game as PSV enjoyed a bright start in front of a lively home crowd. The Dutch outfit created an early opportunity but Gabriel denied Ismael Sabari from close-range.
Saliba made the initial interception after Johan Bakayoko made a brilliant run down the right-hand side. Gabriel then got himself behind Aaron Ramsdale and made a brilliant last-ditch block.
And it’s fair to say that Summerton was impressed with the £27 million man’s defending while covering the game tonight.
Summerton amazed by Gabriel defending for Arsenal vs PSV
Speaking on TNT Sports’ coverage of the game, Summerton lauded Gabriel for preventing an early PSV opener.
“It’s absolutely brilliant last-ditch defending that from Gabriel,” the commentator said.
“I heard today that a certain Giorgio Chiellini has retired and that’s the sort of last-ditch challenge I can recall him making on many occasions for Italy and Juventus.”

It was a slight surprise to see both Gabriel and Saliba start for Arsenal considering tonight was a dead-rubber game. But you can see why Arteta opted to keep his trusted centre-back pairing and Gabriel put in a solid display.
Arsenal struggled in the first half but they eventually found an opener through Eddie Nketiah.
The Gunners striker finished expertly in the 40th minute after some good work from Reiss Nelson down the right-hand side.
Yet, PSV enjoyed a bright start to the second period and were quickly rewarded as Yorbe Vertessen found an equaliser.
PSV certainly looked the more likely to find a winner in the second half but both sides were eventually forced to settle for a draw.
