Steve Nicol believes that Arsenal target Pedro Neto will be on the move this summer after his ‘absolutely breathtaking’ performance for Wolves in their win over Tottenham on Saturday.

Wolves picked up another hugely impressive win on the road, with Joao Gomes scoring twice as they beat Ange Postecoglou’s men 2-1.

Pedro Neto set up the winning goal just after the hour mark with an amazing run from just outside his own penalty area. Wolves won possession back from Yves Bissouma before Neto was set on his way. The 23-year-old made it to the six-yard box before doing superbly to cut the ball back for Gomes.

Arsenal target Pedro Neto absolutely breathtaking against Tottenham

Only Kieran Trippier and Ollie Watkins have provided more assists than Neto in the Premier League this season. So it is no surprise that the Wolves star is attracting interest.

Arsenal want Neto, while Tottenham also have their eye on the winger.

And speaking to ESPN, Steve Nicol suggested that it almost feels inevitable at this stage that Neto will be on the move at the end of the season following his performance against Spurs.

“Particularly in the second-half, every time that Wolves counter attacked, they looked as though they were going to score. Neto was absolutely fantastic,” he said.

“Wolves on the break was absolutely breathtaking, particularly Neto. And it seems that there’s no way this guy’s going to be at Wolves next season. Wolves take bids for players. They move players on. And Neto, for me, seems to be the next one in line.”

Wolves will be braced for offers

The biggest question mark over Neto is arguably his injury record. The Portuguese has had a couple of lengthy lay-offs in the past.

It seems too soon to say whether Neto has put his previous injury problems behind him. However, there is absolutely no question that he is in outstanding form this season.

Neto has already matched his best Premier League season for goal involvements, so you would expect that he would comfortably go past that tally in the near future.

And if he keeps playing like he did against Tottenham on Saturday, Wolves are definitely going to be expecting a number of offers in the summer.
