A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to praise Dion Sanderson for another superb display for the Black Cats.
Lee Johnson’s charges hosted Swindon at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday, hoping to bounce back from their 2-2 draw at Crewe last weekend.
Sunderland were much improved against the Robins and, although they struggled to break them down at first, they got their rewards midway through the second half.
From a free kick, substitute Chris Maguire sent a great delivery into the box for Charlie Wyke to head home his 19th goal of the season.
Sanderson, meanwhile, delivered another strong performance, carrying the ball out well, passing effectively and carrying out his defensive duties superbly.
The Wolves on-loan ace is proving a shrewd acquisition and has helped turn Sunderland’s form around.
And on social media, many fans were once again praising Sanderson for his efforts:
I’m pretty sure Sanderson has had more touches than anyone

That’s a massively important victory. Now we are (gradually) moving into the automatic promotion picture, albeit with some hurdles to overcome. Sanderson & Maguire were both excellent tonight, & Wyke ended his mini-drought at the right time. Onwards! #SAFC 🔴⚪️

Obviously early days in his career and I wasn’t his biggest fan at the start but I think we just need to enjoy Sanderson while he’s here. Because that boys going on to big things.

Sunderland currently sit fourth in the League One table, just five points off the top two.
Up next for the Black Cats is Saturday’s home game with Rochdale.
