Liverpool face Newcastle United in the Premier League today with the hope of continuing their current good form and remaining top of the table.
Newcastle will also have to get the better of Liverpool without the presence of one-star player. Jonjo Shelvey is struggling with a thigh injury and is expected to miss out.

The player has previous with Liverpool of course. The midfielder spent three years at Anfield before leaving for Swansea City in 2013.
On top of that, Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the player.
In October 2017, ahead of a meeting with Rafa Benitez’s men, Klopp suggested that Shelvey was at the highest end of the footballing quality scale.
“Shelvey and (Mikel) Merino in the middle of the pitch? That’s the biggest quality football-wise.”
– Jurgen Klopp in October 2017
Liverpool know full well exactly what Shelvey can do to a team. Not just from his time at Anfield. Those comments from Klopp came before a disappointing 1-1 draw with Newcastle. The goal from the Magpies that day was scored by Joselu, but created by a sublime pass by Shelvey.
Liverpool are a far stronger side from that day and the highly-regarded Shelvey is set to be missing. Klopp will surely be glad of that fact.
