Abraham posts on Instagram thanking Villa for 'unforgettable' season on loan
Tammy Abraham’s goal fired Aston Villa to promotion from the Championship, but it doesn’t look likely that the Englishman will form part of their bid to stay there.
The Sun reported last month that Abraham has already told Dean Smith that he wants to try and make a go of it at Chelsea.
The transfer ban imposed on the Blues could well give Abraham – and his fellow young stars – a rare opportunity to force a route into the first team.
But Abraham took to Instagram to thank Villa for an ‘unforgettable’ loan spell at Villa Park, alongside a photo of him walking out alongside his team-mates in the 2-1 play-off final victory over Derby at Wembley.

He also said that Villa will always have a place in his heart, but the nature of the message all but confirmed that he won’t be plying his trade in the West Midlands next time around.
It’s clear how much he loves the club but the opportunity for a young English striker to establish himself at a Champions League club doesn’t come around too often in the modern era.
The question for Smith is how to replace Abraham’s goals, as he seeks to put together a squad ready to take a swing at the Premier League.
