A number of Liverpool fans have waxed lyrical about Jarell Quansah’s latest performance for the Reds at age level.

On Wednesday, the Liverpool U19s ran out 2-0 winners over their Atletico Madrid counterparts in the UEFA Youth League.

After a 2-0 defeat in their previous encounter, the young Reds welcomed Fernando Torres’ charges to Kirkby looking for their second win in the competition.

Liverpool dominated proceedings in the first half and were unlucky to be level at the break, neither side breaking the deadlock.

However, the Reds succeeded in getting on the scoresheet on 64 minutes, Koumetio providing a superb through-ball for Max Woltman to rifle home.

Liverpool then added a second just six minutes later, Quansah netting with a near right-footed finish following a scramble from a corner.

As well as getting on the scoresheet, the 18-year-old team captain impressed at right-back, helping his side to a clean sheet.

Liverpool fans were impressed – here’s what some wrote on Twitter:

Quansah joined the Liverpool academy aged five and signed his first professional deal with the Reds in February 2021.

Described by the Liverpool website as a “stylish centre-half”, the Under-18s captain can also play at right-back.
