‘A new level’: Aaron Lennon says £22m Tottenham player is playing better than he ever has

Heung-Min Son looks to be back to his best at Tottenham.

In fact, there’s an argument to be made that he isn’t actually back to his best – he’s better than ever before.

Indeed, Son is well on track to have his best goalscoring season at Tottenham after an electric start, and it’s fair to say that the striker has been incredibly impressive as of late.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Aaron Lennon has been full of praise for Son’s recent showings, claiming that he’s taken his game to a new level this season.

Son has hit a new level

Lennon spoke about the £22m attacker and his performances for Tottenham this term.

“I didn’t expect them to hit the ground running like they have done, Son has stepped up, he’s taken the armband, he’s a fantastic player anyway, but he’s taken his game to a new level now being the leader there and he’s leading by example, long may it continue,” Lennon said.

Son could still improve

Son is looking brilliant at the moment, but the scary thing is that this may not be the end of his improvement.

Indeed, let’s not forget, he’s only just started working under Ange Postecoglou, and he’s only just started playing as a central striker. He’s barely used to any of this.

He’s taken to it like a duck to water it has to be said, but he hasn’t yet fully mastered the art, and once he does, he could be a truly frightening striker.

Many expected Erling Haaland to be the runaway Golden Boot winner this season after his record-breaking campaign last time around, but Son may well have something to say about that.

Son was the Golden Boot winner back in 2021/22, and it wouldn’t be a shock if he reclaimed his crown this season.
