Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno has told Football London that Dane Scarlett will start against Pacos de Ferreira this evening.
Starting role
Scarlett is still only 17-years-old, but he has now been training with Tottenham’s first-team for a year now.
Jose Mourinho was a huge fan of the youngster, and spoke effusively about his talents on a consistent basis.
And Nuno also seemingly has high hopes for the young Tottenham striker.
Indeed, the Portuguese boss is set to give Scarlett the chance to lead the line later this evening, in what could be his first start for the club.
“He’s going to start the game tomorrow,” Nuno said.
“We have big, big expectations regarding Dane because he did so well in pre-season which you recall the game against Leyton Orient in which he scored and he was involved in many of the games in pre-season.
“He’s a young talent that we want to develop and we want to make him better and want to make him grow because there’s a lot of potential there.”

Star of tomorrow
All eyes will be on Scarlett’s display, as optimism is really building that he could be a star of the future.
The prospect has scored prolifically at youth level for Tottenham, although he is still searching for his first competitive senior goal.
Scarlett did find the back of the net against Leyton Orient in pre-season, which offers encouragement that he could become a goalscorer if given chances.
Tottenham go into tonight’s game expected to win, although they are set to name a young line-up for the contest.
