‘The fans love him’…Peter Crouch says he’s been so impressed by £42.5m Tottenham target recently

Morgan Gibbs-White has had another excellent season at Nottingham Forest and Peter Crouch has been singing his praises.

Gibbs-White was a £42.5m signing for Forest when they won promotion back to the Premier League and he has since gone on to shine and become captain at the City Ground.

Of course, that form has led to interest from other clubs. Tottenham are thought to be among the teams looking to bring Gibbs-White in, with the likes of Tim Sherwood among the pundits to suggest he’d be great under Ange Postecoglou.

And speaking about Gibbs-White on his latest podcast, former Spurs striker Peter Crouch has admitted he saw the Forest star coming a long time ago.

Peter Crouch says Morgan Gibbs-White is so impressive

Speaking about Gibbs-White on the latest episode of the That Peter Crouch Podcast, Crouch admitted he’d spotted the 24-year-old years back in a pre-season game.

“Morgan Gibbs White I have been talking about for years. I remember playing against him for Wolves in pre-season as a youngster and saying he’s a bit of a player him. They spent a lot of money on him but I think he’s the main man there now. The fans love him. He did a bit of skill the other day where the fans were off their feet. He has got a lot of ability,” Crouch said.

Gibbs-White is better than Forest

That isn’t to disrespect the two-time European champions but Morgan Gibbs-White definitely has it in him to go on and play for a club higher up the table.

Whether that team is Tottenham, remains to be seen. If he signed for Spurs now, there’d be an argument to suggest that he might not even get in the starting XI.

However, Gibbs-White has proven with his work-rate and everything else that he comes with it that he’s willing to put in the effort to push on.

Gibbs-White would be a fine signing for Tottenham and any Forest fan would be annoyed to see him go.
