Liverpool are said to be interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Nordi Mukiele.
According to Le10 Sport, the Reds have identified the 22-year as a potential summer signing having impressed over in Germany.
The Frenchman was heavily involved for Leipzig in 2019/20, making 35 appearances in all competitions for Julian Nagelsmann’s side.

Mukiele – a £14 million signing for the club two years ago (L’Equipe) – has caught the eye for being able to operate comfortably in a variety of positions.
Predominantly a right-back, he also played as a centre-half on occasion and also at right-wing.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool make any kind of move in the transfer window, as it was another strong defensive showing throughout 2019/20.
Certainly, one man who would not benefit from any move for Mukiele, is young Ki-Jana Hoever.
TBR’s View – A barrier to first-team opportunities
There’s a good chance that Hoever would be sent out on loan if the club successfully brought in Mukiele.

The 18-year-old is a right-back by trade and, like Mukiele, can also play in the centre of defence.
It would very difficult to see where first-team minutes would come from for the Dutchman if Mukiele was in the picture.
With Dejan Lovren’s future in doubt, he is probably hoping to get a few more opportunities in 2019/20, but any arrival of Mukiele would surely see him head elsewhere temporarily.
