A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to praise Mbaye Diagne following his impressive debut for the Baggies.

The 29-year-old signed for West Brom earlier this week, arriving from Turkish giants Galatasaray in an initial loan move.

Milliyet reported that the Baggies paid Gala £1.4million for his services until the end of the season.

Albion then have the option to make the move permanent if they stay in the Premier League.

Diagne underwent a medical in Turkey on Thursday and flew to England on Friday, with the deal being confirmed by the Baggies in the evening.

Sam Allardyce named the Senegal international on the bench for Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Fulham at The Hawthorns.

Bobby Reid gave the visitors a 10th-minute lead, which they took into the break, after which Diagne was brought on as a substitute for Callum Robinson.

The Baggies newcomer was a real presence from the off and, following Kyle Bartley’s 47th-minute equaliser, provided a superb assist for Matheus Pereira to fire the hosts into a 66th-minute lead.

Unfortunately West Brom couldn’t hang on to their lead as Fulham netted with 13 minutes to go through Ivan Cavaleiro, but Diagne’s performance certainly bodes well for the future.

Plenty of Albion fans loved what they saw from their new signing and took to social media to praise him:
