Lautaro Martinez to Tottenham Hotspur is “a good possibility” this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs are once again being heavily linked with the Inter Milan striker.

Last year, Tottenham reportedly agreed a fee for Martinez before a move fell through.

Inter were apparently reluctant to let him go after they sold his strike partner Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.

Martinez has stepped up this season, scoring 16 goals in 40 in all competitions, including 14 in 28 Serie A outings.

Planet Sport recently reported that Tottenham are still keeping tabs on the 24-year-old.

However, Spurs could have competition from the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.

With Conte now in place at Tottenham, it is no surprise to see Spurs being linked once again.

Romano, speaking on the Que Golazo podcast, claimed Tottenham could have a good chance of signing Martinez.

He stated: “They wanted him last summer, could be a good possibility.

They wanted him, but Inter sold Lukaku to Chelsea, so it was impossible for them to sell both Lukaku and Lautaro.

“This summer, I think it could be a possibility.”

“He’s very complete”

Martinez would be a great shout for Tottenham, a young, world-class striker who’d cause a buzz among Spurs fans.

Argentina teammate Lionel Messi has waxed lyrical about his compatriot, testament to his quality.

“He’s spectacular,” talkSPORT quotes him as saying last year. “He has impressive qualities.

“You could tell he was going to be a great player and he is showing that.

“He’s very strong, really good one on one, scores a lot of goals.

“And in the area he fights with anyone, holds it up, he can turn, scrap to win it all on his own.

“He has a lot of quality. He’s very complete.”

Harry Kane hasn’t had any major competition in the Tottenham team in years.

He has often had too much responsibility on his shoulders.

Signing Martinez would mean Tottenham wouldn’t have to rely as much on the England captain.
