Dean Jones has been baffled by what he’s hearing, or more accurately what he’s not hearing, from his sources at Tottenham Hotspur now.
Speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Jones was speaking about the idea of Harry Kane leaving the north London club this summer, and he says that one strange element of this story is that he’s not heard a single murmur about Spurs looking at a striker to replace Kane this summer.
Indeed, Jones says that there has been absolutely no suggestion that Spurs are looking for a new striker this summer, and he finds that very strange considering that there’s a strong chance Kane could leave.

No striker search
Jones shared what he’s been hearing from his Spurs sources.
“One thing that I find a bit strange is that I speak to a few people around Tottenham who know what’s going on and at no point has anyone suggested a striker that Tottenham are after. I don’t think they’ve had a look yet at who they might get. In the past they’ve been linked with people, but it’s all speculation,” Jones said.
Pull their fingers out
Tottenham can refuse to believe it all they want, but the reality is that Harry Kane might leave the club this summer, and Spurs need to be ready for if he does.
Kane is a player that will absolutely need replacing if he does leave, and Spurs need to have a list drawn up as soon as possible.
As the old saying goes, failure to prepare is preparing to fail, and in this case, Tottenham are hurtling towards a disaster.
They may have tears in their eyes while doing it, but Tottenham need to write up a list of potential Kane replacements very soon.
