Antonio Rudiger has played with a lot of talented attackers during his time.
The current Real Madrid star has played with the likes of Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard and even Francesco Totti during his career.
The German ought to know what a good striker looks like by now, and speaking to Goal’s Front Three on YouTube, he’s reserved some special praise for a former Chelsea player.
Indeed, Rudiger has spoken highly of Andre Schurrle after playing with him at international level for a long time.
The former Chelsea striker was Rudiger’s international teammate for a little while, and the defender says that Schurrle was utterly brilliant.
Rudiger says that Schurrle was quite simply lethal in front of goal, describing him as a killer and a beast.

Antonio Rudiger praises Andre Schurrle
Rudiger spoke about his former Germany teammate.
“Andre Schurrle, you played with him as well didn’t you, tell me a bit about Schurrle really quickly?” Rudiger was asked.
“Yes, yes, yes it’s true. That guy was a killer, in front of goal he was a beast,” Rudiger said.
Brilliant
Schurrle may get lost in the annals of history due to the fact he was often surrounded by better players, but we mustn’t forget just how good he was for a time.
He was a key player in that 2014 World Cup win for Germany, and while he couldn’t quite nail down a proper place in the Chelsea side, he did step up for the Blues in big moments when needed.
Unfortunately, after leaving Chelsea for £24m, Schurrle’s career took a nosedive. He struggled to find much form from that point onwards, and a poor loan spell at Fulham seemed to destroy his confidence.
Schurrle retried at the age of just 29, and while his career may have ended prematurely, he certainly left his mark on the game during his playing years.
