Both Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber were incredibly impressed by one Arsenal player in the dramatic victory against Porto yesterday.
Mikel Arteta’s side worked so hard during the 120 minutes but were left frustrated by opposition who were masters at killing the game.

Pepe was rolling back the years in the Porto defence, a 41-year-old who still looked like he wouldn’t be out of place were he still at Real Madrid.
That being said, Arsenal showed all of their rich mentality when winning the penalty shootout with four excellent spot-kicks.
Of course, David Raya was the hero on this occasion, saving brilliantly twice in the shootout, winning Arsenal the game.
However, it was a different Arsenal player that both Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber were left celebrating after the job was eventually done against Porto yesterday.
Leandro Trossard was Arsenal’s solitary goalscorer over the two legs, dispatching an incredibly important finish towards the end of the first half last night.
And following the game he understandably took to Instagram to celebrate with fans once again.
Leandro Trossard proved vital for Arsenal as they eventually beat Porto yesterday
Sharing two photos celebrating his goal, Trossard simply uploaded a post with a caption of: “QUARTER-FINALS!!”
Of course, this progression does mark the first time in 14 years that Arsenal have gone beyond the round of 16, another piece of history Arteta has delivered for the club.

And as you might expect in the comments of Trossard’s post, there was an outpouring of support from his teammates and fans.
Martin Odegaard simply left a couple of hearts whereas Jurrien Timber left some fire emojis.

Timber would have surely loved to be out there helping his side, and he’ll hope that a return now isn’t too far away, perhaps he could still play a role in the competition if Arsenal continue to have success.
But all in all, it did feel like a seismic win for Arsenal against Porto yesterday, who proved to be such an awkward stylistic match up.
And ultimately Arteta did make the right call when deciding to start £27m Trossard on the left wing, even if there were some credible alternatives.
All that being said, Arsenal do hope to have a vital player back from injury in the coming weeks.
