Arsenal battered Sheffield United on Saturday, but there was a bit of a controversial incident after the Gunners scored their third goal.
Indeed, it wasn’t wrong after Eddie Nketiah’s hat-trick that clips started to circulate showing that Martinelli didn’t actually celebrate Nketiah’s third goal.
Many began to suggest that there was something more to this incident, but speaking on Inside Arsenal, Charles Watts has shared an alternative explanation for Martinelli’s actions.
Indeed, Watts noted that he thinks Martinelli may have picked up a bit of an injury in that moment, stating that he saw the attacker limping a little bit after that goal before he was substituted.

Martinelli was limping
Watts shared his observation on the £8m man.
“I think there might’ve been something more to it, not anything bad, but I think he might’ve had some injury issue and was walking off. If you see it he sort of limps as he’s turning and he walks straight off. He came off a few minutes later as well,” Watts said.
Far from ideal
If Martinelli has indeed picked up a knock, that is far from ideal for Arsenal.
The games are starting to come thick and fast for the Gunners, and they’ll need all of their key players fit and firing at all times.
Bukayo Saka has had his injury issues as of late, while Gabriel Jesus is out of action for a little while too, so if Martinelli has indeed picked up a knock, Arsenal’s attack begins to look slightly bare.
Fingers crossed this isn’t anything serious and the winger will be ready to go again this weekend against Newcastle United in what will be a huge game for both clubs.
