Despite the disappointment of dropping two points at Pittodrie against Aberdeen yesterday, the Celtic fans do have a reason to be cheerful this morning.

The Hoops support have been left scratching their heads at Celtic’s January recruitment and there was a worry that the players that were brought in, Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah, may not be good enough to give the team the push they need to win the Scottish Premiership.

However, it was Khun who seriously impressed in the 1-1 draw at Pittodrie as the winger came on as a second-half substitute and saved Celtic from the jaws of defeat.

Celtic are now just three points ahead of Rangers at the top of the table but it could have been a lot worse if it wasn’t for the contribution of the £3m January signing.

Nicolas Kuhn was sold for Celtic vs Aberdeen

The 24-year-old German winger was brought on in the second half to replace Liel Abada in the 63rd minute.

During his 31-minute cameo, Kuhn impressed with his direct running and, by getting on the scoresheet, he instantly endeared himself to the Celtic support.

Rated 8.0 by Fotmob, Kuhn had 32 touches of the ball with a passing accuracy of 88%. In an effort to break down a stubborn Aberdeen defence, the winger had five touches inside The Dons penalty box and he also created one chance.

However, it wasn’t just Kuhn’s attacking ability that impressed. The £3m summer signing also put in a defensive shift for Brendan Rodgers.

Kuhn made five defensive actions and completed five ball recoveries. He also won five duels and made one interception to help Celtic take one point from Pittodrie.

Not the result the Celtic fans wanted, it could have been a lot worse without the contribution of the German winger and he has done his chances no harm of displacing Liel Abada, who struggled to make any kind of impact, against Hibs on Wednesday night.
