Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur have lofty ambitions for the January transfer window, there’s a few names on the wishlist.
However, in order to pursue a defender, a midfielder and a forward, Spurs will surely need to offload players.

Hugo Lloris was the first player to leave the wage bill this month, another signal to a fresh new era.
However, there are still a few names from the past that are right on the periphery of things – one being Eric Dier.
It’s not a secret at this point that Tottenham would be happy for Dier to leave, a player who simply doesn’t fit Postecoglou’s plans.
Of course, that’s not to say that Dier isn’t still a centre-back that can offer a ton of strong attributes to a top side.
That being said, journalist Alex Crook has now shared that Dier has been offered to Premier League clubs in the past.
Crook was speaking on talkSPORT and did ultimately say that Dier might stay at Tottenham beyond the January transfer window, which has long been touted as a possibility.
However, the journalist also confirmed that interest did still exist with West Ham United looking to strengthen their back line.
Journalist says Eric Dier might not leave Tottenham in January transfer window
Outlining the situation, Crook said: “I think there is interest. David Moyes is certainly looking to strengthen that backline.
“Max Kilman [also] remains very high on West Ham’s wishlist, although Wolves are not keen to let him go in this transfer window.

“Dier is a fascinating situation because he was being actively touted around to Premier League clubs right through the last transfer window.
“He wasn’t particularly keen to leave Spurs, he knows his contract is coming to an end at the end of the season, he has been able to sign a pre-contract with an overseas club, I know there is interest from his former club Sporting Lisbon.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if Eric Dier just sits out his contract and moves probably abroad on a free transfer at the end of the season.”
Of course, Dier staying at the club for the next six months may not be the worst situation.
Even if Tottenham do recruit Radu Dragusin this month, a player they are heavily linked with, they’ll still be short on numbers.
Moreover, if £85k-a-week Dier is willing to be a backup player for Tottenham beyond the January transfer window that could be seen as a real positive.
Few sides in the Premier League can call on a player of Dier’s quality as fourth or fifth choice.
That being said, Spurs may see that as unnecessary depth, with the side now interested in a £50m Premier League striker.
