Celtic’s win over Livingston helps to put a bit more pressure on Rangers today as the Ibrox side face a tricky away tie to Motherwell this lunchtime.

For Brendan Rodgers, the victory at Parkhead meant two things. A five-point lead was opened up at the top of the Scottish Premiership and that ‘fantastic’ Celtic winger, Luis Palma was back to his brilliant best.

The Honduran international has really frustrated his Celtic teammates over the past few weeks as he struggled to find his creative spark.

But against David Martindale’s Livingston, he was red-hot as the Hoops eventually cruised to a 2-0 win after two quick-fire second-half goals sealed all three points.

On top of that the Honduran created five chances with two assists and had four shots on goal.

The most pleasing aspect is that the 23-year-old also chipped in defensively with seven duels won, two successful tackles, five defensive actions and one clearance.

It was a polished all-round performance by Palma and one that the Celtic fans will hope to be repeated against Dundee on Boxing Day and Rangers on the 30th of December.
