Tottenham Hotspur fans are now being told not to rule their side out of a quite audacious summer bid to land a player who could propel their project.
Ange Postecoglou’s side return to Premier League action tonight against Brentford, boosted by the return of several key players.

Micky van de Ven and James Maddison quickly became two of Spurs’ most crucial starters, helping to form a new spine under Postecoglou.
And with both now returned and finding their fitness, Tottenham fans will surely be hoping to cement a top four spot, and perhaps even look beyond.
That being said, Son Heung-min will still be missing whilst at the Asian Cup, meaning Richarlison is expected to continue as the number nine.
And although Spurs’ haven’t often been linked with a striker in January – most of the focus has been on Conor Gallagher and Antonio Nusa, that is probably one that will be addressed in the summer.
With that in mind, The Standard have now been telling Tottenham fans not to rule out a remarkable bid for Ivan Toney after the season concludes.
Tottenham could still make an audacious bid for Ivan Toney in the summer
According to the report, Toney does tick a lot of boxes for Tottenham’s recruitment team.
The striker is homegrown, ambitious, and Postecoglou is known to enjoy working with players who have risen through lower divisions.

Ivan Toney is quite the catch, as a lot of top teams have noticed.
Brentford’s asking price is thought to be around £80m for Toney in the summer, a lofty price tag for a player with just a year left on their contract at the time.
However, such is the interest in Toney, who Tottenham could now step up their efforts for, Brentford will feel confident they can hold out for such a bid in the summer.
It certainly seems like one to watch, and Spurs are now thought to have the financial muscle to be able to compete with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.
That being said, the club have just received a blow with a promising youngster picking up a hamstring injury.
