'8/10', 'exquisite': £20m Everton ace lauded for outstanding display last night
Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure put in a superb display for the Toffees on Monday night.
The Blues ace has enjoyed an amazing start to the Premier League season, with a goal and three assists under his belt.
Doucoure’s efforts have helped Everton move up into the Premier League top four.
Rafa Benitez’s charges came from behind to run out 3-1 winners over Burnley at Goodison Park.
Despite falling behind to Ben Mee’s 53rd-minute header, Everton turned the game around in a seven-minute salvo.
Michael Keane nodded home on the hour mark before Andros Townsend let rip with a 25-yard rocket five minutes later.
Then, Demarai Gray raced through on goal from Doucoure’s superb pinpoint pass and slotted home.
The £20million man’s efforts saw media outlets give him high ratings and sing his praises.
90Min gave Doucoure 8 out of 10 and wrote: “Fortunate not to give away a penalty, but covered an enormous amount of ground between the penalty areas and his raking pass gave Everton their third goal.”
Meanwhile, the Liverpool Echo gave him 7 out of 10 and wrote: “Struggled in possession throughout the first half but really stepped up his game in the second period in that sense.
“Particularly his through-ball to Demarai Gray for the winger’s goal was exquisite.”
To date, Doucoure has made 38 competitive appearances for Everton, claiming four goals and six assists.
Up next for the Toffees is Aston Villa away on Saturday, 5:30pm BST kickoff.
