West Ham United star Michail Antonio has admitted he’s exhausted after the win over Manchester United on Sunday.

The Hammers picked up a vital three points at the London Stadium thanks to Said Benrahma’s first-half effort.

David Moyes’ men appear to be out of trouble as they sit seven points clear of the relegation zone with just three games left to play.

It’s fair to say that West Ham were good value for their win over Erik ten Hag’s side on Sunday, despite David de Gea’s mistake gifting them the winner.

And Michail Antonio has been speaking about the result on the Footballer’s Football Podcast.

Antonio admits he’s exhausted after Man United game

Antonio has admitted that while he’s delighted with Sunday’s win, he’s still feeling the effects of the shift he put in while leading the line for West Ham.

“I am tired bro,” Antonio said. “I am tired, it was an energetic game.

“End to end, and I think we should have maybe finished the game off sooner rather than holding out but we needed that three points! It was a fight, we are buzzing.”

It’s been an underwhelming campaign for West Ham and Antonio, but they will breathe a huge sigh of relief once they officially avoid the drop as expected.

The Hammers have struggled for goals throughout the season, with Antonio, summer signing Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings failing to find the back of the net regularly.

Yet, Antonio has played a key role in West Ham’s improved form recently, despite his lack of goals.

The £7 million man always runs himself into the ground for West Ham and his work-rate against United was exceptional.

Nevertheless, the east Londoners will have to address their forward line in the summer, but they’ll be delighted that they decided to keep hold of Antonio in January.
