Ivan Toney is one of the most coveted players in the Premier League right now.
The Brentford striker is said to be a transfer target for most of the top teams in the league, with Arsenal and Chelsea most strongly linked as of late.
However, speaking on The Spurs Chat Podcast, Ryan Taylor has claimed that Tottenham shouldn’t be ruled out in the race to sign Toney.
Spurs have been linked to Toney here and there over the past 12 months, but with Arsenal and Chelsea so strongly linked, the striker has been seen as more likely to join another London club.
However, according to Taylor, Spurs shouldn’t be discounted from this race, although he was quick to note that Toney does indeed want to join Arsenal.

Spurs could get Toney, but he wants to join Arsenal
Taylor shared what he knows about the £60m man.
“I have always understood that Spurs are a team that have been looking at Toney, I don’t know if they have the muscle to compete with Chelsea and Arsenal at the end of the season. People have shot down Spurs’ interst in Toney, whereas the information I’ve had is don’t rule out Spurs. Although Toney wants to join Arsenal and he would favour that move above anywhere else at this moment in time,” Taylor said.
One to watch
Toney wants to join Arsenal as things stand, but perhaps that could change by the end of the season.
Indeed, Spurs are currently on the up while Arsenal are fading from the title race, and if Tottenham do beat their great rivals to a place in the top four, perhaps the tables could turn in this transfer race as well.
Toney, much like any footballer, will want to play for the best club possible, and over the next six months, Spurs could establish themselves as being stronger than Arsenal by beating them to a Champions League push.
