£60m attacker previously on Spurs radar tipped for ‘big club’ move by teammate

A player previously linked with Tottenham Hotspur, and who plenty of Spurs fans still want at the club, has been tipped for a “big club” move by his teammate this summer.

Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has been doing well for Dean Smith’s side, having followed up last season’s promotion heroics with high-calibre displays in the Premier League this term.

However, Villa have been struggling in the top flight this season and they currently sit 19th in the table, albeit with a game in hand on their relegation-battling rivals.

As a result, Grealish’s future at Villa has been called into the question, with a player of his quality not expected to be playing his trade in England’s second tier once again.

Tottenham famously came close to signing Grealish in 2018, only for the move to fall through, but plenty of fans are still hoping Spurs will move for him (HITC).

According to The Sun, meanwhile, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona want to secure the services of the 24-year-old, who is reportedly valued at £60million.

Frederic Guilbert, in an interview with France Football, has not only backed Grealish to earn an England call-up for Euro 2020, but he feels he has done enough to earn a transfer.

“He’s a top player,” said the Frenchman. “I think he has the ability to go to a big club this summer. He will clearly go to the Euros.”

Tottenham may have missed out on Grealish previously, but should he become – or make himself available – this summer in case Villa go down, there will be plenty of Spurs fans calling for Daniel Levy to get his chequebook out.

Some Spurs-leaning figures also think the Birmingham-born attacker should make the switch to North London, such as Jamie O’Hara (talkSPORT, 7:40am, February 21, 2020), who said: “I think Jack Grealish would fit perfectly into Spurs’ setup”, while Lord Sugar said “we should try to get him“.

Tottenham are currently well stocked in terms of midfielders and wingers, but in case the opportunity arises, could Spurs really pass up again on a player who has “a bit of Gazza about him“?
